PHP Security Audit, Emergency Patching & Laravel Upgrade Services
Identify exposed PHP runtimes, plan safe structured upgrades, and modernize legacy web applications. We provide verified runtime patching, code-level compatibility refactoring, and managed maintenance for global enterprises.
Affected PHP Runtimes & Server Configurations
Exploitability depends directly on server SAPI configuration, worker process models, and how request streams are buffered. The underlying PHP runtime must be verified and updated regardless of CMS brand.
Apache mod_php
Direct in-process execution. Configuration determining environment variables and request body buffering directly dictates exploitability.
PHP-FPM (FastCGI Process Manager)
Widely used with Nginx and Apache. Vulnerability surface depends on pass-through parameters, socket configuration, and worker lifecycle.
php-cgi / Legacy CGI
High exposure when query string parameters or header parsing are passed directly into the runtime wrapper.
LiteSpeed & CloudLinux SAPI
Requires verification of LSAPI handler versions and CloudLinux hardened PHP kernel patches.
FrankenPHP & Modern Caddy Runtimes
Requires updating embedded libphp runtime binaries to patched upstream patch levels.
Official PHP Patch Matrix & Remediation Status
Based on official security releases published by the PHP Development Team on 21 October 2026. Verify your installed release via php -v.
| PHP Branch | Lifecycle Status | Minimum Fixed Version | Upstream Fix | Remediation Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PHP 8.5 | Active Support | 8.5.12 | Available | Apply upgrade to PHP 8.5.12 immediately. |
| PHP 8.4 | Active Support | 8.4.27 | Available | Apply upgrade to PHP 8.4.27 immediately. |
| PHP 8.3 | Security Support Only | 8.3.36 | Available | Apply upgrade to PHP 8.3.36; plan roadmap to PHP 8.4+. |
| PHP 8.2 | Reaches EOL End of 2026 | 8.2.35 | Available | Apply emergency fix 8.2.35 and prepare phased migration to 8.3/8.4. |
| PHP 8.1 & Older (8.0, 7.x, 5.x) | End of Life (No Upstream Fixes) | Vendor Backport / Migration | EOL / Vendor Backport | No upstream PHP release. Verify OS distribution vendor backport (RHEL, Ubuntu ESM) or stage urgent migration. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Direct technical answers regarding PHP vulnerability response, patching windows, and migration scopes.
What is PHP2Shell?
PHP2Shell refers to two critical PHP core vulnerabilities disclosed on 21 October 2026, tracked as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. Under specific web server and SAPI configurations (including Apache mod_php and misconfigured PHP-FPM workers), these vulnerabilities can allow unauthenticated remote attackers to trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code.
Which PHP versions contain the official upstream fixes?
The upstream PHP development group published official patches in releases: PHP 8.5.12, PHP 8.4.27, PHP 8.3.36, and PHP 8.2.35. If you are running an earlier patch release in any of these active branches, you should update to at least these minimum versions immediately.
What if my server runs PHP 8.1, 8.0, 7.4, or older?
PHP 8.1 and earlier branches have reached End of Life (EOL) and do not receive upstream security patches from the PHP Group. Organizations running these versions must either verify that their enterprise Linux distribution vendor (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Pro/ESM, Debian LTS) has backported a security fix, or stage an urgent migration to a modern, supported PHP release.
Is my WordPress, Laravel, or Drupal website affected?
Vulnerability depends entirely on your server runtime environment, SAPI configuration, and PHP patch version—not on the CMS or framework name alone. Even a fully updated Laravel or WordPress installation is exposed if the underlying PHP binary on the host or container is vulnerable.
Can a Web Application Firewall (WAF) substitute for patching?
No. While a WAF with updated heuristic signatures can help detect and block known exploit attempts as an emergency temporary filter, it cannot provide complete coverage against modified payloads or stream fragmentation. Updating the underlying PHP binary or applying verified vendor backports is required to completely remediate the vulnerability.
Can adronSoft upgrade legacy applications running on PHP 5 or PHP 7?
Yes. We specialize in legacy PHP modernization. We perform an automated AST syntax and compatibility audit, create isolated staging replicas, refactor deprecated functions and database drivers (such as legacy mysql_* extensions), and incrementally test your application on modern PHP 8.3/8.4 runtimes.
Will upgrading our PHP version cause website downtime?
We perform all compatibility refactoring and smoke testing in an identical staging environment first. For production cutover, we coordinate rolling worker reloads or schedule approved off-peak maintenance windows with verified rollback snapshots in place.
Do you support Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud VPS environments?
Yes. We work across AWS (EC2, ECS, Elastic Beanstalk), Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, cPanel/WHM, CloudLinux, Docker base images, and bare-metal Linux servers. All remediation is conducted using version-controlled Dockerfiles or Infrastructure-as-Code where applicable.
Do you serve international clients outside India?
Yes. adronSoft delivers remote software and security engineering services to companies worldwide, including the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, UAE, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. All projects are coordinated around your team’s preferred timezones and change windows.
Do I need to send passwords or server credentials in the enquiry form?
No. Never submit server credentials, passwords, API keys, or database credentials through web forms. Once your assessment request is received and a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is executed, we will arrange secure, encrypted access mechanisms (such as temporary SSH keys or identity provider delegations) following least-privilege principles.
How much does a PHP Security Assessment cost?
Pricing is determined by the size of your infrastructure, number of environments, application complexity, and whether rapid emergency remediation is required. We provide clear, transparent, scope-based estimates before any work begins, with no unexpected commitments.
